“Men return again and again to the few who have mastered the spiritual secret, whose lives have been hid with Christ in God. These are of the old time religion, hung to the nails of the Cross.” – Robert Murray McCheyne

To all those of us who have been touched by his ministry, Pastor Frank Tamel is undoubtedly one of the few Robert Murray McCheyne was referring to in the above quotation – one whose ministry has been so effective, full, and far-reaching, its influence would be impossible to tell. Besides his obvious unfailing devotion to God, and indomitable spirit, the success of Pastor Tamel’s ministry can be attributed to an intense passion that keeps him committed to achieving his goals.

After leaving military service in World War II, Frank Tamel committed himself to improve the wages and conditions of the thousands of men he represented in the labor movement. As a result of his hard work and leadership, Frank was offered, and accepted, a position with an international union as a labor rep to negotiate contracts across the USA and Canada. It became his religion.

ImageIn 1957, Frank gave his life, his heart, and soul to the Lord Jesus Christ. He never looked back – never wavered. In 1972, at the age of 49, Frank Tamel and his wife Angeline were called by God to establish a church in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. With that same steadfastness, dedication, and drive, Pastor Tamel led Parkway Apostolic Church from humble beginnings in a cottage meeting to a congregation of a size comparable only to the upper 1% of churches in the country. Through his ministry, thousands have been baptized in the only Name that saves: Jesus!

ImagePastor Tamel guided Parkway church through five building programs, including the construction of a 1,400 seat auditorium. In the 31 years that Frank Tamel served as Parkway’s founding pastor, lives have been transformed, a school was built, missionaries were sent out, young men answered the call to start new churches, teachers were trained, and leaders were developed, for successful outreach and discipleship.

Presently, Bishop Tamel is semi-retired, in the role of Pastor Emeritus. He continues to make invaluable contributions to the mission of the church, and still preaches the Apostolic message with great passion.
