A lot of times, I think fundamentalist Christians get a bad rap based upon the tendencies of the less educated among them.  For instance, not all fundies are uneducated.  In fact, in most circles, I would be considered a fundie because I believe the scriptures are to be read literally (when applicable) and that the scriptures are inerrant (at least in faith and morals).

I only hope, that through fair and equitable discussion, that people will start to see that fundies are not all the same.  Just like anyone else, we come in different shapes and sizes.

As with many other things, reality is complex and there are shades and degrees of grey.

Even fundies realize that some parts of scripture are poetic or make use of figurative and idiomatic language.
