It's too bad the Trinitarians on this site couldn't do such a bang up job on Oneness posters.   Smiley

Just when I thought my distaste for the way the UPCI represents itself could not get any worse.

Rotten,

No doubt.  For priding themselves in doctrine so much, one would think they could find better debaters.

I'm glad that the success of a live debate has more to do with eloquence and personal preparedness than the actual truth.   Wink

Acumen,

That is the problem with truth, once an individual thinks he owns it, he does not see the need to prepare himself to answer for it.  He merely assumes that truth is; thus, all should see be able to see it.  When someone doesn't, he merely says the same thing over and over again thinking that it will sink through.  Meanwhile, the man/woman on the other side of the table is thinking the same thing about his/her opinion.

If I could be so bold: this is why your website will always have visitors, posters and action...because very few are here to have their mind changed, and many are here trying to bring about change in others.  The ball will never stop spinning.

Except for those like David Bernard.   Wink

Of course, that is the nature of debate.  We also have the "Learn About" boards where people can ask questions for the purpose of personal education.  Unfortunately, as you have already pointed out, not many are as interested in learning as they are in persuading.

Another thing to keep in mind is that visitors or lurkers are very much interested in viewing a debate about issues important to them.  Of course, not all debate is fun to watch.  It really depends how "reasoned" the debate is, or sometimes how academic it is.

It really isn't worth watching.  You basically have trinitarians who were better prepared for the debate, or perhaps just better at debate in general.  It happens.

To the contrary, I think it is well worth watching; I was disappointed to see it removed.  It is entertaining, informative, relavent to this site, etc... Com'n Acumen, why is it no longer available, here? Smiley  Methinks it hurts you too much to see it; heh, heh,...

Rotten,

It wasn't removed.

On the Internet, access to videos, links, and images often have a limitations.  I takes a few months for such locations to expire.

I don't think poor demonstrations of a debate are worth watching.  To see something like this, just go to a regular family function.  Personally, I prefer a good debate where both parties bring something to the table.  But perhaps that is just me.
