Don't get excited,  I am leaving for a two week excursion to Alaska tomorrow.

Today it is packing and we are at the airport at 4AM tomorrow.

A highlight of the trip is a view of the Alaska oil pipeline and an hour in the hot baths it created. Or is that environtalmania??  We'll see.

No oil, but I did get to see a length of the pipeline that brings oil to the tankers.  It was an awesome engineering project but now is pumping about half of the capacity.

But the highlights of the trip were to flights to remote areas, one to Mt Mckinley and the other to a placid lake in the misty fijords.  It these brought "breathtaking vistas" to new hights.

There was much much more to see in this, our largest state (twice the size of Texas) an one that contains a huge number of national parks, many larger than our smaller states.

I highly recommend the trip to anyone who loves natural beauty in a remote unsettled area.
