ChicagoBearsFan-
Acumen has already said why he was banned.

My guess is that some moderator with a bug up his or her butt decided to tell him that he had to either modify or eliminate his signature line, which contained a link to this site.

I suspect that he (rightfully) objected, because it's NOT AGAINST THE ROC to link to a non-commercial website, which this is---and literally dozens of people link to various websites EVERY DAY, some of which are commercial, too---yet THEY don't get banned.

So I think it's probable that after he replied to someone with these(or similar) VERY VALID OBJECTIONS to being singled out and discriminated against, and refused to comply with their demands, THEN he was banned.

Unfair, but it's a privately-owned website whose rules can be(and are) enforced selectively and capriciously, more often than not.

But Acumen, I have a question.

I posted a joke the other day, and it was deleted---no explanation, no notice, no nothing.  Is this going to be a regular practice around here, that posts are deleted and no explanation will be forthcoming?

Warmest regards-

Hatman

Since I was banned, I got thefollowing from Beliefnet where I was known as NJlee

stitch813 has accepted your Beliefnet friend request.

I cannot accept her friendship because of my ban.

Would someone contact stitch813 and advise her that I am here on BeliefCorner having a wonderful time  and ask her to join us here.

stitch is one of my liberal friends, but is a very erudite and intelligent supporter of her points.  She would be an asset here.

search "stitch813" brings up her profile

I couldn't find any of her posts.  She may be gone for Beliefnet and a real candidate for BeliefCorner.

Tell her I miss her and NJlee would love to hear from her.

Faithfulee,

I sent Stitch an email informing her that you wanted her to visit BC.  I think she may have said she'll check it out, but I never saw her.

Thanks

I hope she gets here.  She is a liberal but an intelligent and reasonable one.

I didn't come here to talk about that other site, but Stitch is still posting on the News and Politics board and is getting hammered by liberals because she does not support the liberal candidate of  their choice.

She and PTBC seemed to have a major falling out, and ptbc hasn't been around in a long time.  I would love to see both of them here and they would both be great additions to this board.

Great, for every conservative on this site, we're getting three liberals.    Grin

Well, I haven't been following that, but the numbers do not matter to me.  What I am looking for is reasoned discussion.  The lib:conserv ratio is much higher over there, but because of the nature of many of the members, it is still unfair in our favor.  THere seems to be much more substance here.

Welcome Coach Bob.

I still think Stitch would be a great asset over here.  She is a liberal ok,  but mainly she is a very nice person.

If you get the opportunity tell her NJLee is asking for her.

That's just wrong on so many levels. Smiley

I can't quite figure out why I haven't been banned yet over there. The conversations I've had with Cheryl over the years should get me banned FOREVER on that site....but as such I've only been suspended NUMEROUS times and quite a few for 3 months or more.

Isn't that a shame though?  I was banned only once, and that is right now.  However, I've had more posts deleted than I could remember.  And none of my complaints were ever taken seriously.

I'm so glad that BC exists -- for so many reasons. Cool

It seems that if you stand up for orthodoxy on any level they don't take you seriously. Their mantra is that everyone should just get along at the expense of truth.

Well, that is the nature of multi-faith forums.  Civility is crucial, and truth, well, isn't.   However, over here, we like a dose of both -- as long as one doesn't violate the TOC.   Smiley
