I like what I see of the forum so far.

I see that you have recently added a debate Buddhism board, would a debate atheism board also be a possibility?

All,

I think we can try it and see how it works.  I'll have to revamp the forum a bit.

Cool!  Now that is service!

I'm used to other sites where it takes days, if not weeks to get anything even considered.

I could really get used to this.

Hello,

Nice job so far.
I hadn't realized just how new HERE is.

I would suggest a "Practice" forum, which could either be auto-pruned or a moderator could clean it up after x number of days.

I'm not sure about other folks, but this type/style of board is different from what I am used to.

Thanks,
Charles

Perhaps you know what all those buttons are and do above the reply box, but I'm willing to bet you are in a minority.

It's not all that uncommon or odd (and I don't stutter  Wink ).
Here are a few examples.

I was wondering about the possibility of having it kick us back to the discussion after a post, instead of to the board?

Not a biggie, but curious as to feasibility.

I was an original Beliefnet member but the recent changes have made it impossible for me to contine there and I have terminanted my association.

My complaint was mostly with the new way the moderators actually censure posts.  I know of others who have the same complaint.

There are lots of advantages to Beliefcorner, but we need new members.

I have written to an old beliefnet friend and think we can draw beliefnetters to this site if we promote the advantages, and provide a place for objective and detailed discussion in a friendly and neutral matter.

If you have an interest,  lets share some ideas, and get with it.

I checked my messages thanks.  And responded

More thoughts
1.  Can we make it possible to edit ones post.  I mistakenly posted before I was finished and I couldn't correct the post and had to add a new one.

2.  This format make it easy to make attractive and more effective posts  I have some difficulty in using it, but I will try

3.  At least once a week the main article should change.  I would like to write one on Islamophobia and a Christian response?  to whom would I present it?
Alternately,  I have deep respect for the controversial Bishop Spong, and think that an article or a copy of his regular newsletter would make for a great conversation generator.

4.  I posted a hilarious report of Hillary's Bosnian reception.  Hope everyone reads it and gets the great laugh that I did.

Faithfulee,

1.  After you post, you have 120 minutes (2 hours) to modify your post.  To do this, scroll up to the top of the post and click on "modify."  Our 2 hour limit is designed to prevent people from changing substantial parts of their posts after the thread has progressed significantly.  If you found a mistake after the 2 hour limit, send me a message and I will determine whether it should be changed.

2.  Our format is among the easiest forum formats to use.  We have a convenient list of HTML icons so you don't have to use tedious codes, you can search key words to find posts buried over time, during posting you can scroll down and google a topic for research purposes, we have a liberal character limit for our posts so you can keep all of your points in a single post, and you can follow only those threads where people have responded to you rather than searching thread by thread for responses.

3.  Typically, we change our main page articles every two weeks, so forum members have an opportunity to publish something.  Our current article is a special tribute to a close friend of mine and other administrators of this website, and is therefore not bound by our traditional article time limits.  Part of the article's purpose is to console Eric's family for their loss, and so they can read the comments of people who have shared experiences with him.  When the article is removed, we will be back to business as usual.

4.  If someone wants to publish an article, send it to me at superman@beliefcorner.com along with an autobiography (listing academic or social achievements) and possibly a picture.  We reserve the right to edit the article, and we will send the edited version back to you for your approval.

Thank you,

I'm not sure what you mean by posting more pictures... ?

You should be able to post any picture that currently appears somewhere on the web, unless you're referring to something else.
